Major Activities

Structure

Concrete pours will continue to occur both in the tower garage as well as the core. Garage Levels E through B will be poured in April and core Levels 28 through 31 will be poured by months’ end. Additionally, the Level 1 and Level 5 decks will be poured on the 28th and 29th, respectively. On the 23rd, the tower crane is scheduled to make its third jump to stay above the rising core. Structural steel erection will continue throughout the month as well and steel is currently installed through Level 11. By the end of April, steel framing will be erected to Level 21. Sanitary sewer work is ongoing for the first two weekends in April. Street improvements are also scheduled to begin along 4th Ave, necessitating street closures at 4th between Columbia and Marion streets.

Public Impacts

5th Avenue

For safety, the west sidewalk between Columbia Street and Marion Street will remain closed to pedestrians throughout the duration of the project. The west side traffic lane will be closed for construction Monday – Friday, between 6 p.m. and 3 p.m. and on Saturdays (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) as required.

Columbia St

The north sidewalk between 5th Avenue and 4th Avenue will remain closed throughout the duration of the project as this is a concrete pumping station and will serve as the location for a construction elevator and other primary building functions.

Mobilizations/Street Closures

Street Improvement Work will begin with the sanitary sewer along Columbia Street. This work will require closure of Columbia between 4th and 5th on the weekend of the 9th and 16th. Street improvements are also beginning along 4th Ave. This will include closing the northeast sidewalk at the intersection of 5th and Columbia from Columbia street to the Rainier Club.
