Shoring

Shoring and tiebacks are approximately 35 percent complete. Tiebacks will continue to be drilled in a clockwise fashion (looking north) as the excavation progresses. Tiebacks are scheduled for completion along with excavation in late April 2015.

Evacuation

Mass excavation for the parking garage structure is in full swing. Spoils from excavation will continue to be loaded out into dump trucks at the south side of the site along Columbia street. A conveyor system will be mobilized on March 7th, as the dig will be too deep to use conventional loading methods.

Public Impacts

5th Avenue

For safety, the west sidewalk between Columbia Street and Marion Street will remain closed to pedestrians throughout the duration of the project. The west side traffic lane will be closed for construction Monday – Friday, between 6 p.m. and 3 p.m. and on Saturdays (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) as required.
